Permit Sheriff is designed to add permit intelligence without taking control away from your Autodesk team.What do the Autodesk subscriptions include?
The monthly Autodesk subscription is USD 499 per month and includes 3 permits per paid month. The annual Autodesk subscription is USD 4,990 per year and includes 50 permits available anytime during that paid year. These are Autodesk purchase-channel allowances and are separate from the direct web Operations plan terms. Autodesk purchases use PayPal subscriptions; you do not need a second Stripe purchase.
How does the annual permit allowance work?
One successful document-version import that starts a permit uses one permit from your allowance. Imports in progress reserve capacity; retrying the same import does not use another permit, and a failed import releases its reservation. Unused permits expire at the end of the paid year. Renewal provides a new allowance when the next paid year begins.
What happens as I approach 50 annual permits?
Your workspace shows used, in-progress, and remaining permits. At 40 permits, it recommends discussing Enterprise capacity. After the 50-permit allowance is used, Enterprise capacity is required to start additional permits. Reaching the cap does not cancel your already-paid subscription, and an upgrade is never charged automatically.
What does the analysis cover?
Supported imported documents, source-linked findings, correction review, and retained project context. Review the reported coverage and unresolved items. Broad jurisdiction coverage, comprehensive code certification, and municipal approval are not included. Unavailable local guidance remains explicit.
What access does Permit Sheriff get?
Permit Sheriff works only with Autodesk projects and files your authorized Autodesk account already has permission to access.
Will Permit Sheriff change my Autodesk project automatically?
No. Permit Sheriff analyzes imported project evidence and keeps findings reviewable. Only human-verified findings can be sent back through an authorized action. Permit Sheriff checks the selected project for Issues or report upload support and does not overwrite source documents.
Does this work outside Forma?
Yes. Accessible BIM 360, Fusion/A360, and other Autodesk document projects can supply supported PDFs and images for analysis. Native Issues require a supported Issues environment and permission; otherwise Permit Sheriff checks for report upload support. If neither is available, results stay in Permit Sheriff.
What about RFIs, Submittals, and model intelligence?
Additional Forma APIs support reviewed RFI and Submittal publishing with verified workflow inputs and explicit confirmation. These require project-specific setup and live validation. Permit Command and model-change review provide guarded planning capabilities, not automatic budget, schedule, bid, or model changes.
How are Autodesk credentials handled?
Permit Sheriff uses Autodesk OAuth and stores OAuth tokens encrypted server-side. Tokens are not exposed in the browser.
Do I need Hub IDs, Project IDs, or a project URL?
Permit Sheriff attempts to discover your Autodesk projects automatically. If Autodesk discovery does not identify the project, you can provide the Autodesk project URL instead. No Hub ID or Project ID is required for that recovery path.
What happens if I disconnect Autodesk?
Permit Sheriff stops using that Autodesk connection to access project data. Previously imported permit records can remain in Permit Sheriff according to your account and retention settings.
Does Autodesk remain the system of record?
Yes. Autodesk remains the project system of record. Permit Sheriff acts as the permit-operations and decision-control layer around the evidence, blockers, timeline, review, and next actions.
